Color is a resonance that carries a harmonic tone for me. I paint hearing the tones that arise from within me and I apply them onto the surface. A hard concept for some; however, I never see the surface as white. It already has the color on it. I'm just bringing it forward. It's how my relationship with the painting develops. It is a quiet interaction very much like a dialogue between the physical and non-physical states of communication.
Much of what I paint exists at an entirely non-sensorial level until I bring it forth. There's only one that makes it through from a myriad of choices that exist beyond into the ether. That is why I enjoy the creative process. It is endless and always surprising as to what comes through. It is as playful as it is plentiful.
